Dan, Rob, Ken, Julie and Doreen were visiting Spring Valley today and I
was able to join them. Along the bike path north of the Prothonotary
Warbler Pond we found a Brown Thrasher. It was between the bike path and
the pond. Park in the south parking lot, go to the bike path and turn
right looking from the parking lot area to just beyond the beaver dam.
That is where we saw it.

The spring where the rail was seen was completely frozen over. This is
the first time I have ever seen this happen. We did not see the rails,
snipe or either marsh or winter wren.

Rick Asamoto just called me to say he located a pipit along the Great
Miami River in West Carrolton near the boat ramp.
