There were some good birds around my expanded local patch today here in Mahoning Co.  In my Poland Twp. backyard were 75 wild turkeys, Am. tree sparrow, and 4 pine siskins.  I checked the Struthers stretch of the Mahoning River, among the usual Canada geese and mallards were 4 Am. black ducks, ring-necked duck, bufflehead, 11 hooded mergansers, pied-billed grebe, red-tailed hawks, and n. flicker.  I never saw the river during the dirtiest industrial days around Youngstown, but I imagine it was awful.  So it is always good to see wildlife reclaiming the river corridor.  Later, Craig
