Fellow birders,

Arriving home after a long day of chasing birds, I decided to take the
dogs for a walk in the very last light of the day. A light snow was still
falling, and it made everything as still as could be. You could barely hear
the pitter patter of 20 doggie paws. It was most peaceful. A mature forest
with a lite cover of snow is a beautiful thing.

As we got back to the yard, two Barred owls had a short conversation ,
no doubt about the weather. I've heard them almost every day this year, so
they have already been counted in my yard total of 38 and my state total of
66. I'm shooting for 50/100. I appreciate all those other number reports.
Keep them coming.
