Just to add to the fray here. But I have noticed that as the diversity of my feeder increased, the house sparrows decreased. Used to be, they were the only birds that came to the feeder. But once the winter months started the Finches and the Juncos and the siskins and the chickadees and the titmice and the cardinals and the woodpeckers and the creepers and the nuthatches (get the picture).. started really hitting the sunflower seeds hard, so there wasn't as much out for the sparrows. and when they were around, they sat back in the trees waiting for a turn, not fighting for a spot so to speak.

I have one Flock of about a dozen sparrows that use my feeder, I know this because some of them have distinguishing feathers) I'm sure the sparrows are were the food is easier to get like parks and McD's Parking lots where people dump food or feed them fries. They are all over Honda's building so much so that they have to use those stupid raptor noise generators....that don't work BTW.

Well that's my report of the house sparrows of Marion County.,

See you on the birding trail.

Happy Birding and God bless.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

(Matthew 10.29-31)
