Observers: Paula Lozano & Bob Finkelstein

Rocky River Park to mouth of the Rocky River, 9:30 a.m.
Common goldeneye - XXX
Bald eagle - 1 adult, standing on ice

There is an enormous ice jam in the Rocky River, starting at the railroad
bridge between Lakewood and Rocky River and continuing upstream past Scenic
Park. (photos - one of Canada geese swimming in the parking lot at the  Emerald
Necklace Marina.) It continues at least as far as Lakewood's sewage  treatment.
South of that point there is a strong current with more ice to add to  the
jam.

Lakewood Park Cemetery, Section 5 near the entrance, Detroit Road, Rocky
River, 10:30 a.m.

There was a flock of birds that included red-bellied, downy and  hairy
woodpeckers, blue jay, black-capped chickadee, white-breasted  nuthatch, American
robin (~75), dark-eyed junco, house finch, northern  cardinal and American
goldfinch. At least 6 pine siskins were feeding  on the berm.

p.m.
Hooded merganser - 1, f.
Great blue heron - 1
American coot - 4

Burke Lakefront Airport, Gate 12, 1:15 p.m.
Red-tailed hawk - 1
American kestrel - 2

East 72nd Street, Cleveland, 1:30 p.m.
Ducks: Mallard, canvasback
Gulls: Ring-billed, herring, great black-backed, Iceland (1), glaucous  (6-8)
