Made a few quick stops this afternoon while killing time between meetings.
First stop was the West Woods Nature Center on Rt. 87. From the windows I
observed:
4 male and 5 female cardinals
15 Pine siskins
11 Goldfinch
1 White throated sparrow
9 Am. Tree sparrows
2 White breasted nuthatches
1 red breasted nuthatch - interesting to view both at the same time to see
how much smaller the Rb is
Blue Jay
Chickadees - lots
Titmice - 6
Downy woodpeckers - 5 four of which were all there at the same time for
quite a while
3 Hairy woodpeckers
2 Red bellied woodpeckers
On the way out watched 2 red shouldered hawks chase each other around
The I made a stop at Frohring Meadows - Walked around the path once - windy
and too cold for how I was dressed.
4 Bluebirds
2 Crows
8 robins
1 killdeer - quietly hunkering down amongst the grasses
2 Red tails circling

Good birding-
Dan
