Despite the cold and snow, waterfowl continue to push into NE Ohio.  Today I started up at Mosquito L.  The spillway there held only Canada geese and mallards.  The only other open water was at the Rte. 88 causeway and had Am. black duck, 2 Am. wigeon, 20 canvasbacks, 17 redheads, and 33 c. goldeneyes.  A flock of 125+ snow buntings (some molting to breeding plumage) offered great views at the causeway.  Also seen at Mosquito WA were 3 bald eagles, n. harrier, e. bluebird, and Am. tree sparrows.  On to L. Milton, where I found 30 Am. black ducks, 50 canvasbacks, 20 redheads, lesser scaup, 3 buffleheads, 70 c. goldeneyes, 8 hooded mergansers, 3 red-breasted mergansers, 2 common mergansers, red-shouldered hawk, belted kingfisher, and 20 dark-eyed juncos.  Next stop was at the Rte. 224 causeway at Berlin Res.  Here were 6 tundra swans, 12 canvasbacks, 15 redheads, 5 greater scaup, hooded merganser, and 12 common mergansers.  On the way to the SW
end of Berlin I spotted red-shouldered hawk and 2 white-throated sparrows.  Down at the bottom end of the reservoir in Stark Co. was a large gathering of fowl including 1 adult WHOOPER SWAN (origin of course suspect), Canada geese, 125+ mallards, 4 gadwall, 15 Am. wigeon, wood ducks, 30 ring-necked ducks, and 6 hooded mergansers.  Later, Craig
