I went to Chippewa Lake today to look at a goose (my six-year-old sister said she thought it was an intermediate Snow Goose, so I drove up... turned out to be a white greylag) and met a couple who were looking for the Bald Eagles. I told them that I had heard that one had been found dead... turns out the guy had taken a call from the lady who found it. He said, after looking at her pictures, they determined that the bird was actually a headless Canada Goose down in the water. I was so excited- I really love the eagles, you see. I saw their nest today for the first time, but didn't see the eagles at all. Once I got home I recieved an email from Laura Jordan of the Medina County Raptor Center, who confirmed that both eagles are alive and well. Sorry for the mix-up.
