Hello Ohio Birders,

While on an unsuccessful search for evidence of the Columbia Silkmoth, I found a group of 9 Common Redpolls at Cooperrider-Kent Bog State Nature Preserve (off Meloy Rd. west of S.R. 43 just south of Kent, Prttage Co.). The birds were feeding on birch catkins on the eastern side of the boardwalk.

There were five inches of snow on the boardwalk which was a bit more snow cover than I expected based on an Internet search this morning.

Happy birding,

Dave Horn
Columbus
