At the direction of Richard Counts, and since I was in Marion anyways, I decided to give Chapel Hights Memory Gardens a go?. Lots of great habitat.

Rick said that he saw five Red Breasted Nuthatches over in the cemetery and I just had to go. I found three of the five eating seeds on the spruce trees. The others were probably there as well They were popping in and out of the spruce trees and I could hardly keep up with them.

It was funny the way I found them. The lady that runs the office of the memorial gardens was retuning from lunch when she spotted me and my camera walking around the grounds. She drove up and wondered what I was doing there....I think that I must have been only the second person she has seen that wasn't there for a funeral. (Rick being the first). Anyway when she left, I immediately heard the chatter of the nuthatches. I look up and there they were. Eating away. I got a couple of OK pics that I had to spend a few hours Photoshoping a sky into. The sky was completely white. I posted one here: http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s226/sjlarue/Birds/RBNH1.jpg

I am going back when I get better light and sky conditions.

Chapel Heights is located here:

If you're in the area, give it a go.

Happy Birding and God Bless

Steve

Ezekiel 17:22-24

22 " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will take a shoot from the very top of a cedar and plant it;
I will break off a tender sprig from its topmost shoots and plant it on a high and lofty mountain.

23 On the mountain heights of Israel I will plant it; it will produce branches and bear fruit and become a splendid cedar.
Birds of every kind will nest in it; they will find shelter in the shade of its branches.

24 All the trees of the field will know that I the LORD bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall.
I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.
      " 'I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.' "
