I'm shocked that we didn't run into Rick Counts at Fairview Cemetery in Galion this morning...

Dave Slager, Les Murray, and I stopped at the Galion Cemetery briefly this morning after doing some owling but we came up empty handed on the crossbill front (we did managed 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches, however).

Heading back south, we made another quick stop at the River Cliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead where we lucked into 11 White-winged Crossbills at around 9:00AM.  These birds (1 male and 10 female) landed at the top of a spruce for about 30 seconds and then flew to the west, not to be seen again.  So far, my experience with crossbills in Ohio has been of birds that put in a brief appearance and then move on.  It makes me wonder how many times I've missed crossbills in the spruces on my own street.
