In addition to to the many canvas backs, golden eyes and buffleheads
at the Avon Lake pier
there was a single swan that I think is a Tundra Swan but I wasn't
sure. I have only seen them in flight before and it was so windy
I couldn't get a good look at it. The bill was almost all pink.

Sadly there is a badly injured Canada Goose there. I saw it crash
into the ice as if it had been shot. It spiraled down out of the air
and hit the ice hard. It managed to recover a bit and get back into
the air only to do an aerodynamic stall and flip over backwards in
the air. It
collapsed and crash hard into the concrete pier and slid off into the
rocks. I thought it was dead as its neck was bent over its body.
After a few minutes it regained its composure but I notice a bit of
blood in the snow beneath the bird. Perhaps someone can rescue the bird.
