White Winged Crossbills were at Evergreen Hill Cemetery this afternoon.
Around a dozen birds, 7 males and 5 females. Maybe more. It was hard
to count them as they were scattered about and constantly on the move.

They were flying from tree top to tree top, feeding mainly on
the cones of the Norway Spruces, but occasionally landing in the pines
also.
A small flock of pine siskins was feeding alongside them.

Most of the activity was in Section 12 and 13.

Also saw a red breasted nuthatch and a brown creeper there.

(The cemetery is on Franklin Rd, just outside Chagrin Falls.)

Inga Schmidt
