Hello Birders
This morning Bob Royse, Doug Snapp, Bruce Miller, and I searched the Scioto
River near 5th Ave. for the
Surf Scoter with no luck. We did find what were most likely two different
Horned Grebes as we walked the area
South of Griggs Dam. In spite of the warmer conditions there were still
large numbers of waterfowl along the river.

Mallard Ducks
Canada Geese
Northern Pintails
Buffleheads
Common Goldeneyes
Hooded Mergansers
Gadwalls
American Black Ducks
Canvasbacks
Redheads
Ring Necked Duck
Cooper's Hawk
Great Blue Herons (in very good numbers)
Northern Cardinals
Blue Jay
White Throated Sparrow
Carolina Chickadees
Tufted Titmice
Downey Woodpecker

I'm sure I'm leaving a few off of the list guys so chime in if you wish. Not
a bad morning at all, some good birds and even
better company.

Best in birding to all

Kevin
