While attending to my daughter's disabled car in the parking lot next to Gabriel Bros. on Route 59 in
Kent, we heard a red-shouldered hawk calling. We watched it fly in and perch in a small woods. It
continued to call for a while when another flew in to join it. The two birds sat near each other in the
tree for a few minutes. The second bird flew overhead, checking us out and then flew out of sight.
The first bird began calling again. Eventually the pair got back together in the far corner of the
parking lot with crows and jays paying attention to them.
