Hello everyone,
At about 6:30 pm, while sitting in woods behind my house in Independence, a flock of 48 hawks glided over my head. They were heading North. These are woods that parallel the Cuyahoga River near Pleasant Valley Road. I didn't have binoculars and don't know what kind they were, but I've never seen this before and it was quite a thrill.
Also, there have been about a dozen hooded mergansers and a few shovelers and, I think, scaup in the pond on Pleasant Valley near Brecksville Rd for the last few days.
