Observers: Michael Gerringer Linda Daily Leonhard
Location: Lake at Eastwood Metro Park 1385 Harshman Road Dayton, Ohio
45431
Date/Time: 3/5/2009 1:30 PM
We saw a pair of Sandhill Cranes flying over the lake at
Eastwood Metro Park. They flew across Harshman Road and out of view, but
may have landed in the lake within the private fenced in area across the
street.
It was really exciting! I have only seen Sandhill Cranes one
time before this and it was in the Florida Everglades. We noticed that on
March 13th of 2008 there was a flock of Sandhill Cranes spotted at this same
location. Looks like their timing is quite close to last year's.
