I stopped by Spring Valley today and then Eastwood Metropark later in the
day (March 13th).  I moved here from central NY this past fall.  I have been
amazed at the diversity of birds coming through the area this time of year.
Spring starts so much later in Upstate NY!  Here's a list of what I saw.
The Common Goldeneyes were a first for me.

Bufflehead, Virgina Rail, Ring Neck Duck, Gadwall, American Wigeon, Northern
Shoveler, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Pied-billed Grebe, Eastern
Bluebird, Tree Swallow, Eastern Phoebe, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Brown
Creeper, White-throated Sparrow Belted Kingfisher, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker,
Hairy Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy
Woodpecker, Carolina Wren, White-breasted Nuthatch, Tufted Titmouse,
Carolina Chickadee, Song Sparrow, Great Blue Heron, Turkey Vulture, American
Goldfinch, House Finch, Slate-colored Junco, Blue Jay, Northern Flicker,
Killdeer, Mallard, Canada Goose, American Crow, Northern Cardinal, American
Robin, Common Grackle, European Starling, House Sparrow, Red-winged
Blackbird.

*Eastwood Metropark*
Bald Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Eastern Meadowlark, Red-tailed Hawk,
Red-breasted Merganser, Horned Grebe, Common Goldeneye, Mourning Dove, Rock
Dove, Ring-billed Gull.
