Shane Eggleston and I saw the same birds at Cowan Lake State Park which we had seen earlier. The three LONG-TAILED DUCKS and two WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were observed swimming and diving quite close to the shore from the South Shore Marina. In addition to the flock of usual ducks there was a single Greater Yellowlegs which Ed Roush reported the other day. It was in the mudflat at the extreme Eastern end of the lake. Shane had also seen six Snipe but I could not locate them.

Cowan remains worth a visit.

Good Birding Cheers, Larry Gara
