Hello!

Sorry for the very late post (computer issues) but yesterday (Saturday,
March 14th), Ken and Julie Davis and myself birded Pleasant Hill Lake, and Funk
and Killbuck Wildlife Areas where besides the expected waterfowl suspects,
highlights were as follows:

LONG-TAILED DUCK-3 males at Pleasant Hill observed together from the marina
area.
SANDHILL CRANE-a total of 9 were observed from where we parked along Rte. 95
at Funk. Groups of 2 and 4 were observed flying overhead whereas we had
great views of 3 walking through the fields north of Rte. 95 across from where
we parked.
SNOW GOOSE-2 in a large flock of Canada Geese on the east side of Funk.
WILSON'S SNIPE-a group of about 20 were observed feeding on the fringes of a
flooded field south of Wilderness Road on the southern end of Funk.
BALD EAGLE-2 adults and 5 subadults were observed simultaneously in 3
adjacent trees at Funk. Two subadults were observed at Pleasant Hill Lake.

(As an aside, we also observed the RED-NECKED GREBE at Summit Lake which was
reported late last night by Jay Lehman.)

Directions to each location can be accessed on the OOS website.
