I visited most of the access points on the southern portion of this Lake east of Delaware, Ohio, this morning looking for migrant waterfowl. Locations visited included the dam, New Galena launch, Plumb Rd. access, SummerRidge access, Cheshire causeway, and Berlin Station access. It was a gorgeous morning, but the birding was somewhat hit-or-miss. Highlights and lowlights included:

Dabbling Ducks - hadly a one, other than a few Mallards

Diving Ducks - several flocks of Lesser Scaup (total - 150), but far fewer Rdhead (20), and Ring-necked Ducks (6). I found 3 Common Goldeneye near the dam, and had 4 Bufllehead on a pond near Africa Rd and Stimson Rd.

Mergansers - a scattering of Red-breasteds, perhaps 20 for the entire morning, over several sites, but no Hoodeds or Commons

Other Waterfowl - 8 Horned Grebes were over 3 different sites, while a single Cormorant was at Berlin Station access

Shorebirds - lots of mudflats, but only about 5 Kildeer were found for the entire morning.

Gulls - lots of medium-sized flocks of Ring-bills at every stop, for a total of 800+ birds in around 3 hours. 15-16 Herring were with them, but no other gulls could be found.

Turkey Vultures - small flocks of 2-3 birds at several spots. Iguess they all moved on to Hinckley.

Tree Swallows - single birds were calling at SummerRidge and Berlin Station accesses.
