The Bald Eagles have returned for the 5th year to their nesting site in
Brown County, 2 miles East of Higginsport, along the Ohio River. They are
currently incubating egg(s), expected to hatch within the next 10 days. A
fenced viewing area has been set up by ODNR along the highway and is 225
yards from the nest. Along with the adults, 2 Immatures are frequently
seen in the area and could be the young from a prior year. Pictures of the
adults and immatures are at:
http://www.pbase.com/nsxbirder/bald_eagle_higginsport_2009.
The gallery also contains a link to a google map showing the location, and
a link to a Wild Ohio video from 2006 recorded at this site.
