Last evening a V formation flyover of three large birds caught my
attention.  I immediately thought great blue heron, but it wasn't quite
right. And how often do you see multiple herons flying in a v formation? So
I ran for the binocs... they were clearly not herons, more buffy-brownish in
color and with long necks held out straight, not folded like heron. Long
legs trailing behind. Too far at this point to get any definitive field
marks.  Did I see Sandhill Cranes? Wouldn't that rock the yard bird
list????  LMK if I have the ID right or if it might have been something
else.

Also got my FOYY (first of year in yard) Eastern towhee today!
