Four of us from Holmes County watched at Conneaut today after the fog lifted at 10:45 or so. Clear blue skies made finding high raptors difficult but the south wind held all day and the birds were moving until 5:30. This was our highest Red-shouldered count in our 19 years watching at Conneaut and Maumee Bay.

Turkey Vulture 249
Northern Harrier 3
Sharp-shinned 17
Cooper's Hawk 5
Red-shouldered 170
Red-tailed 143
Rough-legged 4
American Kestrel 3

A Peregrine Falcon showed up and soared overhead for a few minutes but then headed inland, evidently not a migrant.
