There were 60 Turkey Vultures roosted across the street from my house this
morning on South Bass Island. We have had large numbers of vultures the last
few days on the islands as well as red-tailed hawks, red-shouldered hawks,
moving through. Bald Eagles have been spotted daily this week by island
residents.
Common redpolls continue to visit Elizabeth Heineman's feeder daily but down
to only two birds this morning from a dozen there on Monday.
We have had lots of scaup in the harbor as well as a few bufflehead and
red-breasted mergansers.
