Our first killdeer was seen at CanalWay Center, O&EC Reservation today,
March 20. Don't know if they are the same birds, but we have had killdeer
return to the same area to nest every year since 2000.
Also seen returning to the same area was a mockingbird. Mockingbirds have
been in the Reservation all winter, but they were not seen by the visitor
center until this week.
Great blue herons have been seen in the park all winter.
Coming to the feeders: grackles, cowbirds, blue jays, cardinals, chickadees,
house finch, goldfinch, and we still have juncos.
