As I walked around Best Lake today in Walter C. Best Preserve in Chardon, I
came across an adult Bald Eagle watching the lake from a tree. It sat for a
long time. Finally, a dog walker came along, and we got to within 30 feet
before it flew across the lake to another tree. It sat there for another 45
minutes.

It was amazing to get so close and to see such a large, majestic bird.

It is the second Bald Eagle I've seen at this site in the past week. The
other was a juvenile flying overhead.

Regards,
Jamie Ward
Chardon
