Here's a recap of birds seen, from Crane Creek west and south:
(plus a harrier on a Rte 2 farmfield before Rte 61)

1) South of Ottawa NWR:
 - Over 1,000 rusty blackbirds in various flocks, plus a  snipe and 2 horned
larks
    (Lickert-Harder Rd cornfields, Toussaint North Rd marshy  spots, Rte 2
rest area East of Davis Besse)

2) Ottawa NWR:
 - Great horned owl on nest (visible from trails walking west of  parking lot)

- Great egrets (2)
 - Coopers hawk
- Bald eagle
 - Canada geese, including a Richardson's
 - Tundra swan (3)
 - Trumpeter swan (2)
 - Gadwall
 - Mallards
 - Northern shovelers
 - Ring-neck ducks
 - Hooded merganser
 - Pied-billed grebe
 - Song sparrows
 - Chipping sparrow
 - Hairy woodpecker
 - Crows
 - Cardinals
 - Robins
 - Redwings
 - Brown-headed cowbirds
 - Common grackle
 - Starlings
 - Great blue heron
 - Killdeer
 - Herring gulls
 - Mourning doves

3) Metzger Marsh:
 - Bald eagles (5 immature and 1 adult)
 - Gadwall
 - Northern shoveler
 - American wigeon
 - Canvasback
 - Redhead

- Ringnecks
 - Bufflehead
 - Coots

 - Pied-billed grebe
 - Great blue herons
 - Killdeer
 - Canada geese
 - Herring gulls
 - Ring-billed gulls

4) Crane Creek:
 - Gadwall
 - Pied-billed grebes
 - Killdeer

- Great blue heron
 - Mallards
 - Redwings

 - Canada geese
 - Song sparrows
 - Grackles
 - House sparrows
 - Robins
