Greater White-fronted Goose: The Bobolink Hotline reported that 12 were
at Wright Marsh on the 21st. The Neubauers observed one at Englewood MP
on the 24th.

Ross's Goose: Doug Overacker reported that two were observed by the
Clark County Audubon group at Old Reid Park on the 22nd. These geese
were seen feeding near the beach at Buck Creek SP on the 24th.

Eurasian Wigeon: Mary Reifsnyder reported that one was on Pond 3 at
Killdeer Plains WA on the 21st. The bird was seen through the 24th.
Philip Chaon observed one at Metzger Marsh on the 21st. This could
possibly be the same bird that Kenn Kaufman reported there on the 17th.
Rick Counts reported that one was at the Hardin County Wetlands on the
24th.

Surf Scoter: Gabe Leidy reported that one was near the Westerly WWTP on
the 22nd.

White-winged Scoter: Bruce Glick reported that three were at Wright
Marsh in the Killbuck Marsh WA on the 19th. Su Snyder reported that one
was still at Killbuck WA in the Wright Marsh on the 21st and Tim Shue
saw it on the 22nd. Jack Stenger reported that one was present on the
lake at Delaware SP on the 21st. Bob Powell reported that one was still
present at Cowan Lake SP on the 21st. John Pogacnik observed one on the
22nd during his Lakeshore Waterbird Survey.

Black Scoter: John Pogacnik observed two on the 22nd during his
Lakeshore Waterbird Survey.

Long-tailed Duck: Scott Hites observed one from the pier at Metzger
Marsh. Bruce Glick reported that nine were at Piedmont and four at
Wright Marsh in the Killbuck Marsh WA on the 19th. Greg Bennett reported
that one male was at Nimisila Reservoir on the 19th. James Dolan
reported that one was still present at Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary
this week. Bob Powell reported that one was still present at Cowan Lake
SP on the 21st. Darlena Graham was able to locate a second bird at Cowan
Lake later that day. The Bobolink Hotline reported that three were at
Pleasant Hill Lake on the 21st.

Red-throated Loon: Bruce Glick reported that one was at Seneca Lake on
the 19th. Doug Overacker reported that one winter plumaged bird was at
Buck Creek SP on the 22nd. This loon was observed by many observers on
the 24th.

Red-necked Grebe: Bruce Glick reported that seven were at Tappan Lake,
one at Piedmont and one at Clear Fork on the 19th. Two were reported at
Clear Fork Reservoir  on the 21st. Jeff Spaulding reported that one was
near the dam at Senecaville Lake near in Noble County on the 20th. Greg
Bennett observed one near the dam at Berlin Reservoir and one at Lake
Milton on the 22nd. John Pogacnik observed one on the 22nd during his
Lakeshore Waterbird Survey. Greg Links reported that five were seen in
NW Ohio this week. Doug Vogus reported that one was at Indigo Lake in
the Cuyahoga Valley NP on the 21st and 22nd.

American White Pelican: Charlie Bombaci reported that one was still
present along the west shore of Hoover Reservoir between areas I and K
on the 20th. The bird was observed again on the 21st by Laura Vaughn.
The Bobolink Hotline reported that one was at Clear Fork Reservoir on
the 21st.

American Bittern: Slightly on the early side, one was observed by Rick
Counts at the Hardin County Wetlands on the 24th.

Osprey: Pat McCarty reported that the Darke County Birders observed one
at Grand Lake-St. Marys on the 22nd.

Golden Eagle: Julie Davis reported that one was seen by another birding
couple near Pond 27 at Killdeer Plains WA on the 22nd. Julie did observe
one just south of Rte 95 on the 22nd.

Sora: Early, one was seen by Rick Counts on the 24th at Hardin County
Wetlands.

Lesser Yellowlegs: The Neubauers reported that some were present at
Ottawa NWR on the 21st. Phil Ware reported that two were at Cowan Lake
SP on the 23rd.

Least Sandpiper: Doug Overacker reported that one very early Least was
at the north end of the lake at Buck Creek SP on the 22nd. The bird was
still present on the 24th.

Dunlin: Gabe Leidy observed one along Rte 2 just west of Magee Marsh on
the 21st.

Iceland Gull: Gabe Leidy observed an adult at Edgewater SP on the 22nd.

Lesser Black-backed Gull: These gulls are rare at this time of year
along Lake Erie and accidental at inland waters. Tom Bartlett reported
one during his Kelley's Island Monthly Survey on the 20th. Troy Shively
located one inland at Indian Lake in Logan County, possibly a county
first, on the 20th. The Bobolink Hotline reported that one was at Clear
Fork Reservoir on the 21st. Jack Stenger reported that an adult was
present on the lake at Delaware SP on the 21st. Rob Edelen reported that
one was at East Fork SP beach on the 24th.

Glaucous Gull: The Bobolink Hotline reported that one was at the marina
at Clear Fork Reservoir on the 21st. Gabe Leidy reported that one
first-cycle was present near the Westerly WWTP on the 22nd.

Common Tern: Jason Cade reported that one was at Cowan Lake on the 23rd.


Northern Shrike: The Neubauers reported that one was still present along
the causeway at Magee Marsh on the 20th. Kenn Kaufman observed two along
the causeway at Magee Marsh on the 23rd. James Dolan reported that one
was still present at Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary this week. Brenda
Baber reported that one was at Mosquito WA on the 22nd.

Northern Rough-winged Swallow: Two were seen by Bill Doss in Goshen on
the 24th.

Brown Thrasher: A pair was observed by Bill Stanley in Williamsburg,
Clermont County, on the 22nd. Nick Boutis reported that one was in his
Yellow Springs neighborhood on the 24th.

Louisiana Waterthrush: Bruce Lombardo reported that one was singing in
Rocky Fork Gorge on the 24th.

Chipping Sparrow: Sean Williams observed two at Blue Limestone at
Delaware Run on the 22nd. Linda Sekura observed one at Ottawa NWR on the
22nd. Bob Lane reported that the chipper that wintered in Damascus
backyard started singing on the 22nd. Jay Stenger reported that one was
at Hueston Woods SP on the 22nd.

Western Meadowlark: The Bobolink Hotline reported that there was one
singing on the Perry Yoder farm located at 9235 TR 609, Fredericksburg.

White-winged Crossbill: Kirk Westendorf observed eight in section 53 of
Spring Grove Cemetery on the 22nd. Doug Vogus observed one female just
south of Indigo Lake at the entrance to Howe Meadow on the 21st.

Common Redpoll: Tom Bartlett reported five during his Kelley's Island
Monthly Survey on the 20th. John Pogacnik reported that one visited his
feeder on the 22nd. Mary Oliver reported that a pair was at a friend's
feeder in Marion on the 22nd.
