I toured these two reservoirs north of Columbus this morning to look for lingering waterfowl and early landbird migrants, not finding much of either. O'Shaughnessy had very few waterfowl, although it had quite a few gulls; Alum was almost a carbon-copy. Notables included:

SURF SCOTER - a pair were on Alum east of the Hollenback Rd marina. There was a lot of boat traffic in this part of the lake, so their chances of staying were not good.

Red-br. Merganser - the only ones were a flock of 20 north of Berlin Station access at Alum Lake

Ruddy Duck - 2 were on O'Shaughnessy above the dam

Cormorant - a flock of 35 were on O'Shaughnessy above the Home Rd bridge, while 3-4 were off Berlin Station access at Alum Lake

Gulls - perhaps 100 Ring-bills and 40 Herring were along the length of O'Shaughnessy, while Alum had roughly 200 Ring-bills and 20 Herring. The Herrings were unusually common for both of them, and almost all juveniles.

Turkey Vulture - some movement, with 40+ along O'Shughnessy and about half that at Alum.

Tree Swallows - small numbers at both reservoirs
