Yesterday (Saturday, March 28)my mother and I birded on South Bass Island fo
her birthday. We saw the following in the harbor, bay, and at Scheef East
Point Nature Preserve.
Common Goldeneye  xxx
Bufflehead  xx
Scaup sp. xxx
Red-breasted Merganser  xx
Ring-necked Duck  1 pair
Redhead   1 pair
Canvasback 1 pair
Mallard xx
Canada Goose xx
There was also a Great-Blue Heron in the pond by OSU.
There was about 80 Turkey Vultures that roosted overnight at Gibraltar and
Peach Point. In the evening there was another large roost inland.
The day before we saw 2 Common Loon in the lake.
