I finally saw a Woodcock on our property this spring! It flew past me at
6:55am as I was leaving the barn and walking toward the house. My wife
asked how I knew it was a woodcock in the poor light. I said "it looks like
a baseball with wings moving as fast as a bat!". This is the third year in
a row that I have either seen them or heard their courtship activity in
March. All times it lasted just a couple days.

I will add this sighting to the OBBA records later this week.

Also, my first Golden-crowned Kinglets (male and female) at The West Woods.
They were in the shrubby trees along the gas line in the west end of the
park.

Regards,
