I was able to take the family out for a walk before mass yesterday at
Boettler Park in Green. It's amazing how birds can make even now
birdwathcers (like my wife) stop and be amazed. Her favorites were the
singing Field Sparrows and the abundant Red-Winged Balckbirds perched atop
the catttails. My 8 year old (who is already a birdwatcher) loved the up
close view of a Redtail and the many Bluebirds. I spent most of my time
watching the pair of Blue-winged Teal hanging out in the wetlands.
I will make a full time birder out of my wife yet,
Good birding,
