Seems that I had the same day as the rest of Ohio...Windy! The storms stretched clear down past Kentucky so I was driving through the winds all the way back. I started off at the Cave Run Fish Hatchery down in Kentucky. Great place, I wasn't able to get to the ponds due to it was Sunday and no one was there to give me permission to drive on the roads. There is however a trail that leads back to the Dam for the main lake. So I went down it. The light rain and wind held the birds down and I was able to see a few between the rain drops. On the trail behind the hatchery, a dozen White Throats were hopping between the trees. I spotted a Ruby Crowned Kinglet looking for bugs...I wished it was a Golden. :-) 10-12 Juncos were scattered throughout. Oddly enough their state bird (as is ours); The cardinal, was in short supply, only two pair were spotted. I could also hear Red Bellies calling to each other. As I was leaving the Hatchery, I saw a Sharp Shinned being harrased by a couple of Crows.

Migrating waterfowl as expected was in short supply. None at the Hatchery, and only a few dozen mallards on the main lake.

On the trip back I stopped at Greenlawn at Columbus. It was so windy that the doves couldn't stay on the ground! :-) Not much else but I did see three times as many Cardinals as I did in Ky.

I spent the rest of the day finding some of the other metroparks in Columbus and marking them on my TomTom. I went over to Glacier Ridge. The wetlands held a pair of Ringnecks and a few Mallards. The main part of the park had medowlarks calling to each other as well as showing off.

Thats about it.

Happy Birding and God bless.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

(Matthew 10.29-31)
