Since so many others have been posting the status of the gull invasion at
Hoover Reservoir, I will not dwell on them other than to say they are still
present, although somewhat more widely distributed. Monday evening we were
trying to hold a Hoover Nature Preserve Advisory Council meeting in the Sunbury
Road office. Not a good idea with birders on the council. Our attention kept
wandering to the show going on outside the back patio door. This morning's
Columbus Dispatch had an article regarding the show at Hoover Reservoir.

In all this the waterfowl are being somewhat ignored in the reports. There
have been respectable numbers of both species and individuals from the dam
north to Galena. Along the east shore near Pelican Island I located 7 Trumpeter
Swans, identifiable easily by the Green Neck Bands.
