Delaware State Park is located 6 miles north of the city of Delaware. I
visited the park on Wed(March 4th). I viewed these birds around 4:30 to
5:30pm. I viewed these birds from the ovewrflow parking lot for the
South Marina. There were 2 areas open(ice free). The whole time I viewed
these birds, they were coming & going. I saw 11 different tpes of ducks.
There were over a thousand waterfowl in this area.
 
             Goldeneye- 5 male ,5 female
             C Pintail- 90+
             Lesser Scaup-2 male
             Ring-necked Ducks- 225+
             Redhead-100+
             American Black Duck-31
             Mallard-500+
             Hooded Merganser-8 male, female
             Canvasback-25 male, 7 female
             Bufflehead-male, female
             American Widgeon-3 male, female
 
      Other birds seen
              Herring Gull
              Great Blue Heron
              Killdeer
 
      Birds seen on Lakeview Trail- earlier in the afternoon
         Red-tailed Hawks-2 adults
         Yellow-rumped Warblers-2
         Yellow-bellied Sapsucker-last year's young
         Killdeer
         Brown Creeper
         American Tree Sparrow
 
     County Rd west of the park
          American Kestrals-2
 
                         
 
                Another animal observed-Mink--intersection of Briarpatch
& Mink Trail
 
                         Bruce Simpson-Naturalist at Blendon Woods Metro
Park in Columbus
