Today, at about 4PM, at the northern Columbiana County locations of Guilford Lake and closeby Salem Reservoir there was some excellent birding! Turkey Vultures have returned, plus there were some outstanding numbers of some of the other species. The following is a partial list:

     Redhead     320+

     Ring-necked Duck     30+

     Lesser Scaup     20+

     Turkey Vulture     22+

     Bald Eagle     2

     Red-tailed Hawk     2

     American Kestrel     1

     American Coot     12

     Killdeer     25+

     Ring-billed Gull     160+

     Herring Gull     40+

     American Crow     60+

     Eastern Bluebird     20+

     American Robin     80+

     Red-winged Blackbird     20+

     Common Grackle     250+
