After several days of anticipation for warblers and vireos (and having only ruby-crowned kinglets and blue-gray gnatcatchers), we finally had a good showing this morning.
In our backyard (near route 23 close to the Franklin/Delaware county border), we had the following - and many concurrently:
5~6 black-throated green warblers
3 yellow warblers
2 blue-headed vireos
pair of BALTIMORE ORIOLES
pair of ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS
1 northern mockingbird
In addition to the usual suspects of sparrows, woodpeckers, cardinals, starlings, mourning doves, and robins.
Quite a productive morning with the cup of coffee.
