I went to Char Mar in southern Delaware County today to monitor the
boxes. While I was there I saw the following:
Winter Wren (why is he still here?)
Pileated Woodpecker
Green-Winged Teal (2 males, 1 female)
Blue-Winged Teal (3 males, 1 female)
Ring-Necked Duck (3 males, 2 females)
Wood Duck (2 males, 2 females)
Mallard (1 male,1 female)
One of the Wood Duck couples is occupying the Wood Duck box. There were
several male/female couples of Tufted Titmice flying around. I think they
may be after one of the boxes.
Afterwards I went to Lazelle Woods where a female Eastern Bluebird built
her nest in one of the boxes yesterday. This morning a pair of Tree
Swallows was checking out one of the boxes too.
The Red-Tailed Hawk is still sitting in her nest. This afternoon I
noticed that she had shifted position and had her wings spread over the
nest. Could this mean that she now has chicks under her?
