Red-throated Loon: Chris Knoll reported that one was at Findley
Reservoir on the 23rd. John Pogacnik observed one adult during the
Lakeshore Waterbird Survey on the 25th.

Red-necked Grebe: John Pogacnik observed one during the Lakeshore
Waterbird Survey on the 25th. On the 26th he observed one in breeding
plumage.

Eared Grebe: Two were spotted in a flooded field on Bonham Rd just east
of Wales Corners Rd NW of Bellevue on the 23rd. Su Snyder reported that
one was still present there on the 25th. Phil Ware saw one at Caesar
Creek SP on the 23rd.

Little Blue Heron: Phil Chaon observed one at Veler Rd on the 28th.

Cattle Egret: Jay Lehman found four just west of a pond north of Rte 33
just beyond the rest area west of I-75 on the 25th. 15 were sighted at
Arrowhead Park on the 28th.

Yellow-crowned Night-Heron: Steve Bobonick and Owen Watson observed the
herons in Columbus on the 25th.

MISSISSIPPI KITE: The Bobolink RBA Hotline (April 30, 2009) reported
that one was sighted as a migrant or flyby south of Bedford on the 26th.


Northern Goshawk: Gabe Leidy observed two at a hawk watch at Conneaut on
the 24th. John Pogacnik observed one during the Lakeshore Waterbird
Survey on the 25th.

SWAINSON'S HAWK: Gabe Leidy observed two at a hawk watch at Conneaut on
the 24th.

Golden Eagle: Bruce Glick observed an immature eagle during a hawk watch
at Conneaut on the 25th.

BLACK-NECKED STILT: Sam Corbo saw one at Benton-Carroll Rd on the 26th.
Vic Macha observed one there on the 27th.

American Avocet: Sherri Duris discovered 23 at Veler Rd, just west of
Ottawa NWR, on the 25th.

Hudsonian Godwit: One was reported to be at Veler Rd on the 27th.

Marbled Godwit: Jay Lehman discovered one at Veler Rd on the 25th.

Stilt Sandpiper: Rare in spring and a little early at that, Su Snyder
observed one at Shreve Fish Pond in Wayne County on the 29th.

EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE: Jim Lesser observed two in Celina on the 24th.

Golden-winged Warbler: Craig Holt saw one along Benton-Carroll Rd on the
24th. Gabe Leidy reported seeing two at the Magee Marsh Boardwalk on the
25th. Jay Lehman observed one in the woods at the end of Metzger Marsh
on the 25th. Ed Roush saw one on the Lotus Trail at Cowan Lake SP on the
26th. One was seen at the Cuyahoga Valley NP near Peninsula on the 30th.


Clay-colored Sparrow: John Pogacnik had one visit his yard in Perry on
the 24th. Greg Links observed one along the dikes at Pipe Creek WA on
the 26th.

GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW: Bob Sams reported the sparrow was last seen on
the 24th.

SMITH'S LONGSPUR: Jim Lesser reported that at least six were still
present in Mercer County on the 24th. Jay Lehman and others observed
nine there on the 25th.

White-winged Crossbill: Marilyn Rohr reported that a pair remained at
her feeders in Chardon as of the 24th.

Evening Grosbeak: John Pogacnik reported that one female was at his
feeder in Perry County on the 29th.
