Yesterday (Saturday)I didn't make it out on to the trails but spent about
1/2 hour in the garden. Spotted a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet working a nearby pine
tree. I used my Birdjam to confirm that it was a RCK and up went the ruby
crown. No need for binoculars, that crimson crown was easily visible by eye
with the late afternoon sun shining on it.

I checked the bluebird box and found that they are up to 4 eggs. I hope they
make it through the cold snap we're having down here.

I also saw a Brown Creeper working the oak tree outside our living room
window on Friday. It was a good opportunity to try to get my husband more
into birding. I tried to show him the kinglet but by the time we returned he
had moved along. Of course about 20 mins. later he was back.

I hope to get out on the trails on this beautiful (but cold) Easter Sunday.
