Over the weekend at Gordon Park in boat launch area near Dike 14 observed 100 to 150
RB mergansers, morning Saturday, evening Saturday, morning Sunday and morning Monday.  Saturday evening about 100 of them flew off along the lakefront heading east.  Not much else but a few cormorants and gulls.
 
Today at Wildwood SP on Euclid Creek in Cleveland it was more of the same, about 100 rb mergansers and perhaps 10 dc cormorants.  I stopped there twice...most of the mergansers were in the boat dock area around 11:30 am, with about 20 mph winds and light snow-rain mix, with just a couple birds actually in the creek...by 2:30 the winds had picked up to at least gale force, the snow was coming in straight sideways and the lake was much more turbulent.  About 30 of the mergansers and a cormorant or two had moved up the creek. At my earlier stop there was also a great blue heron and, much to my surprise, a male belted kingfisher.  I couldn't find him once the winds picked up.  Some photos here:
