While I was driving down Rapids Rd. this afternoon (off of 422 West) on my
way to Burton Wetlands, I saw a lone sandhill crane in an empty, muddy
corn field. It was about 5 miles down Rapids Road, or 2.5 miles past Eldon
Russell Park. This particular sandy had a lot of rufus plumage, so I
almost passed it up on the drive. Seen foraging in the field and preening
in a puddle of standing water. I went back about an hour later and it was
still there.

Great sighting. no place to pull over and park unfortunately. Let me know
if anyone else has seen it or any others in the area.
