Ohio Birders,

I was surprised this morning to encounter a flock of 13 White-winged Crossbills in Ohio County, WV (northern panhandle). We haven't heard many reports of these birds lately and I assumed they had all moved north. Looks like there are still a few around.

I also wanted to share an interesting behavioral observation. While birding yesterday in Belmont County I encountered a female Red-bellied Woodpecker who chased a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker off of a tree and then proceeded to visit all of the holes in the tree that the sapsucker had created...woodpecker version of a pirate hijacking.
