Hello,
I had a chance to follow up of the possible Snowy Owl today to no avail. It was a lot of ground to cover and it was all private property.
I also got out a little this afternoon at The Ridges in Athens. I had Louisiana Waterthrush, Yellow Throated Warbler, Ruby Crowned Kinglet, White Throated Sparrows and much to my surprise, a Wood Thrush. When I heard the "pit-pit-pit", I had to question my initial identification due to the very early arrival of this migrant. I was determined to confirm with a visual ID, which I was able to do. Often times in the spring, this is the first place that I see Wood Thrushes in the area.
