The Smith's Longspurs at Manley Rd continued at 4:00 this evening.  Despite the slight drizzle, several offered excellent views as they foraged in the corn stubble on the south side of the road.

Earlier in the day I visited the Belleview skyponds to follow up on some of the birds that Kent Miller reported earlier in the week.  The Eurasian Wigeon (which I was really hoping for) was not present, however the trip was still very worthwhile.  The pond along TR 205 east of Wales Corners Rd stole the show.  The Eared Grebe that Kent and company found was still present, along with 7 Dunlin, and a single Osprey that came around a couple times to stir things up.  Other birds in the area included ten species of ducks, greater and lesser yellowlegs, Bonaparte's Gull, and a lone Bald Eagle that kept trying to catch a duck but never even came close.

Good Birding!
