Walking a bit off the beaten path from the duck pond at North Chagrin MP I was surprised by a green heron who flapped into some thickets quite close to me about 8 feet off the ground...flopped to another branch a few feet away and then flew off over the marsh to the very small pond between the two larger ponds next to the nature center.  Photo here:

He was probably musing over the snow rain mix we were being pelted with.
 
At Lakeview Cemetery lots of--maybe 8 or 10--flickers chumming around with robins in the grass between gravesites.  One hawk in the distance, several red bellied wps.
 
For the first week almost nothing at E.72nd st at Lake Erie, a few gulls and a couple ducks at about 9:00 am.
