DISCOVER ISLAND  NATURE
“ISLANDS FOR  THE BIRDS”

Put-in-Bay, Ohio….

Would you like to see a Baltimore Oriole close up?  View colorful warblers
and learn their songs?  Visit  the new Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife
Center?  Join us  for “Islands for the Birds”, on Sunday May 3, on
Put-in-Bay, South Bass Island.  This close up look at migratory songbirds is part
of a new “Discover  Island Nature” series of family oriented, hands on
programs being offered by the  Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center.
This first  program will include bird-banding with Tom Bartlett, a bird walk at
the Scheeff  East Point Nature Preserve and a visit to the Lake Erie
Islands Nature and  Wildlife Center.  The registration fee is $45/person and
includes transportation once on the island and a snack lunch.  This  is a
fundraiser for the Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center. Register with an

Mettler at  419-285-8301.

Other programs offered this summer are “Caves of South Bass Island” on
July 9, “Nature, Up Close and Personal” on July 17, and “Snakes of the Lake
Erie  Islands” on August 8.

Register  now as space is limited. The first program is only a week  away!
