I just got back from a 3 hour walk at the Sycamore Plains Trail of Prairie
Oaks MP. It was gorgeous, and the birds were very active despite the
afternoon sun. I ran into several large, loose flocks of warblers down by
the Big Darby Creek along the trail. The Blue-winged Warbler was in a tree
next to the tall-grass fields, and allowed me to watch from close-range for
quite a while. I also had a Yellow-throated Warbler come down on a branch
about 8-10 feet from me to check me out. Pretty cool! Here is my list:

Nashville Warbler - 3
Black-throated Green Warbler - 6, 5 males, 1 female
Blue-winged Warbler - 1, brilliant adult male
Black-and-white Warbler - 4, all males
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 6
Yellow-throated Warbler - 4

Northern Parula - 4, all males, very vocal and territorial
Pine Warbler - 2, one possibly 2 males, one female
Palm Warbler - 1
Yellow Warbler - 1
Warbling Vireo - 1
Blue-headed Vireo - 3
Red-tailed Hawk - 1
Turkey Vulture - 12
Barn Swallow - 3

Purple Martin - 1
Blue Jay - 2

Enjoy the weekend!
