Noticed a couple of sparrows that stood out from the House Sparrows this morning before I left for work.
I first saw a lone White-throated sparrow under the feeders. I grabbed the binoculars and looked at the only bird in view at the time and it was not the White-throated nor was it a House Sparrow. What stood out to me was the pink bill, the rufous on the top and just behind the eye. I had to grab the guide. It was a Field Sparrow! My first, and it was in my backyard!
Also had a Red-winged Blackbird under the feeders on Monday.
